This is not a brand new deal, but I haven't yet had a chance to post it. Amazon has a pretty killer selection of
SaltWater sandals on sale right now (up to 37% off) that all qualify for free shipping. If you have not ever tried SaltWaters, they could revolutionize your summer. They are made of leather (in about 16 different colors), but are completely water compatible. My kids and I have worn ours in the ocean, at pools and through many, many sprinklers and they always dry back to original perfection. I say my kids and I because they come in sizes for infants through adults. I live in mine each summer and love the fact that they look great with pants, shorts, skirts and dresses. They are quite possibly the most versatile shoes you will ever own. And, lastly, they look new forever (particularly the darker colors). I have had my first (adult) pair for about seven or eight years now and they still look great. Additionally, they are completely affordable, topping out at about $35 a pair full price (though as low as $22 right now on Amazon). Plus, if you spend $70 on
qualifying kids' spring shoes at Amazon, you can knock $10 off of your bill with coupon code KIDS2013.
If you are a first-time purchaser, note that these run a bit long for kids (particularly the ones with the thin soles) and only come in whole sizes. The adult sizes are listed as "youth" sizes, so take the youth size and add two to it to get the adult size. For example, a youth 6 is the same as an adult 8. You also have options as to style and sole material. The traditional soles are quite thin and hard, though they now make several styles with cushier urethane soles for kids. We have owned and loved both types. There are also different styles of uppers (all made of the same leather), from the traditional crossed straps (original) to the simpler solid toe buckle (surfers) to the ones with the little heart cut-outs (sweethearts) and more. Find all of the styles that ship for free from Amazon
here.
Just today I wore mine to my kids' swimming lessons and they were perfect in the shower room (where they got soaking wet as I helped my kids wash their hair). SaltWaters prevail once again!
thanks for this post. had never heard of them -- will order them for the summer!
ReplyDeletebtw, which style would you recommend -- the original?
DeleteI really like the original and have never had any blister trouble with them because they are so "adjustable". If they feel tight when you get them you just have to get them really wet and wear them for a bit so that they will stretch/conform to your foot a bit better. That said, I think that the others are fine too. You really can't go wrong!
Deletethank you-- so helpful!
Delete<3 was looking to purchase them anyway. Just ordered the original for myself and my daughter.
ReplyDeleteAlexandra
I hope you like them as much as I do!
DeleteThanks for posting this, I ordered a pair for my daughter, I can't wait to get them!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! Just ordering these makes summer seem 10 steps closer. Thanks for the note, Jessica!
DeleteThese sandals are truly amazing - my girls have the thicker soled ones in blue and red and after two summers of wear they look just as good as when we bought them.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get a pair for myself and since you have such great taste, I'd love to know which ones you wear!
After collecting these for years I have the originals in red, black and tan (though the tan with the brass buckles are my favorite because they look great with everything).
DeleteI hope that you love yours! Let me know what you decide. : )
